After last year's success, we are proposing again the Walking in Craft tours, on the occasion of the Firenze Creativa Christmas campaign promoted by the City of Florence. Itineraries among Florence's craft activities: four guided tours to explore some of Firenze Creativa's workshops which are held during the "Christmas Craft Week" between December 11 and 16.
Today we present the Digital & Design tour
Santo Spirito Oltrarno, an area that has always been rich in small crafts of the highest quality, where experience is handed down from generation to generation. From Borgo Ognissanti and its church we will cross the Arno River, walking along the walls of the ancient medieval city of the 14th Century, discovering ancient hidden gardens and other jewels of Renaissance art such as the marvelous Basilica of Santo Spirito (Brunelleschi's last work).
From this culture of beauty and craftsmanship, interesting contemporary realities could only be born giving a new life to the craft product not only as a mere object, but as a real work of art. We will have the pleasure of meeting two design realities: FAF (Female Arts in Florence Art Gallery and Contemporary shop) where female entrepreneurship meets, collaborates and creates exhibition spaces; the second reality is OVO TONDO with Camilla Catrambone: Paper Designer who, in a panorama increasingly distant from the tactile and artisanal experience, has chosen paper, a delicate, durable and recyclable raw material to be shaped and molded to give life to creations that are striking in their apparent fragility but astonishing in their ability to create solid and timeless worlds.
Firenze Creativa Christmas is a campaign created by Artex in collaboration with the City of Florence as part of the European project Crafts Code, funded by the Interreg Europe program and aimed at supporting the craft sector in the project partner countries.

Walking in Craft is a project promoted by the City of Florence with the intention of enhancing the city's craft realities through evocative itineraries that connect these workshops to the wonders of Florence. The routes that can be explored freely at www.feelflorence.it or through regularly organized guided tours, offering a unique opportunity for immersion in Florentine artisan culture.
The tour will be conducted all in English!
